For everyday documents, the Signature M650 keeps the controls simple. For a small-to-medium hand wanting a vertical shape, look at Lift. For creative shortcuts and horizontal scrolling, MX Master 4 has a clearer reason to earn its premium.

Which option fits your desk or build?
UseMy choiceWhy choose itChoose another when
Everyday work and a simple budgetLogitech Signature M650SmartWheel scrolling with small/large and left-hand variants in the range. You need multi-device switching or a separate horizontal wheel.
Vertical shape for smaller handsLogitech LiftA small-to-medium-hand vertical design, including a left-handed option. You have a large hand or specifically want a conventional gaming grip.
Creative scrolling and app shortcutsLogitech MX Master 4MagSpeed and horizontal scrolling with app-specific controls and rechargeable power. You want a light FPS mouse, a left-handed shell or simple inexpensive pointing.

The comparison prioritises hand fit, control layout, connection and application functions. A vertical shape is a preference and fit decision; it is not a treatment claim.

Everyday work and a simple budget: Logitech Signature M650

The M650 is my starting point for browsing, documents and general office work. Choose the size and handedness first: a feature list cannot rescue a shell that leaves you stretching for the side buttons. Logitech’s consumer and business packages differ, so compare the intended version.

Its scrolling arrangement is useful for moving between careful line-by-line work and longer pages without building a large shortcut system. Keep the receiver or Bluetooth route compatible with the PC. For a desktop without Bluetooth, include the correct receiver rather than assuming every wireless label means the same connection.

Vertical shape for smaller hands: Logitech Lift

Lift is the route I would consider when the conventional flat hand position is the part you want to change. Logitech positions it for small-to-medium hands and offers a left-handed version. Choose the matching orientation; an ergonomic label does not make a right-handed shell ambidextrous.

Keep the mouse close to the keyboard, adjust the desk arrangement and allow time to learn the different angle. The product gives you a different grip shape, not a guarantee of comfort for every person. For large hands, compare the larger MX Vertical rather than squeezing into the wrong size.

Creative scrolling and app shortcuts: Logitech MX Master 4

MX Master 4 makes sense when long timelines, wide spreadsheets and repeated application commands are part of the daily work. The separate horizontal scroll control is a more concrete reason to choose it than the maximum DPI number. Its broader right-handed shell also needs more desk room than a small travel mouse.

The new haptic/Actions Ring functions use supported software and application arrangements. Choose it for functions you will actually configure. Someone who already has a working MX Master3S should compare that existing workflow before upgrading simply because a new model is available.

One PC, two PCs or a small desk?

List the computers the mouse must control and the connection each provides. Device switching, shared software and a physical USB switch are different solutions; changing a receiver between computers is not the same as seamless multi-device operation.

If mouse travel is severely limited, a trackball is another route because the body stays still. It also requires a different learned movement. Choose the pointing method around the usable desk, then the surface and the keyboard width.

Work-mouse priorities
1. Fit

Hand size, handedness and desk reach

2. Navigation

Vertical pages, horizontal timelines or shortcuts

3. Devices

Exact receiver/Bluetooth and switching needs

Finish the setup

Save a small set of useful application shortcuts and keep the everyday pointer speed familiar. Gaming mice are the separate route when aiming and low weight take priority.
